2025 Chopin Monument Rededication

Saturday, June 7 marked the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Joseph Mazur monument to Frederick Chopin, gifted to the City of Buffalo in 1925 by the Chopin Singing Society. To honor the occasion, the society joined with the Msgr. Adamski Polish Saturday School, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Kleinhans Music Hall and the Olmsted Parks Conservancy in a program “Celebrating Art & Music in Buffalo’s Polonia.”

As it was 100 years ago, a lovely spring day greeted the attendees for this outdoor event.  The program began with singing of the Polish and United States National Anthems led by the Polish Saturday School Choir, a prayer of blessing by Rev. Benjamin Fiore, S.J., and a brief historical overview of the monument provided by Chopin President Mary Lou Wyrobek.
